Fuel savings of up to 20 percent: Dana Rexroth HVT

Under the name Dana Rexroth Transmission Systems, the joint venture, consisting of Dana Holding Corporation and Bosch Rexroth AG, has been engineering, manufacturing, and marketing hydromechanical variable powersplit transmission systems HVT for global off-highway markets since 2011. The hydromechanical variable transmission HVT combines the advantages of the mechanical travel drive with torque converter with those of the hydrostatic travel drive to unite the best features of both technologies. First test involving wheel loaders with Dana Rexroth HVT powersplit systems have yielded fuel savings in the drive train of up to 20 percent compared to vehicles with traditional torque converter transmission.
