HydraForce acquisition: Together even stronger
Back in July 2022 we announced that we’d be expanding our global hydraulics business with the acquisition of HydraForce, a specialist hydraulic company based in the USA. After receiving the approval from the antitrust authorities, we’re now delighted to announce that this acquisition has been completed, and we can share some insight into why this will be such an important addition to our business and how it will enhance our offering for our customers.
Compact hydraulics is particularly valuable due to its high power density and capabilities regarding essential functions in hydraulic systems. The global market for these systems has been growing continuously. While the Compact Hydraulics Business Unit of Bosch Rexroth offers a wider range of compact hydraulic components and systems, HydraForce focuses on mechanical and electrical cartridge valves and hydraulic integrated circuits (HIC). So the combination will enable us to provide customers with a wider range of compact hydraulics solutions on a global scale. With the acquisition of HydraForce, we expect to exceed market growth.
The new acquisition will strengthen our footprint in North America. And by combining Bosch Rexroth’s and HydraForce’s locations, we’ll be able to expand the global presence of our hydraulics business, providing more balanced coverage in Europe, while also enabling growth in Asia. Merging our activities will enable us to maintain regional supply chains for fast product availability and an even stronger customer support.
The acquisition of HydraForce broadens the hydraulics offering for existing and new customers, expands our global market access through additional indirect sales channels and provides opportunities for further growth.

HydraForce’s business activities will be integrated into the Compact Hydraulics Business Unit. Collectively, this will then employ 3,900 associates and operate at nine manufacturing locations in the United States, Brazil, China, Germany, Great Britain and Italy. The leadership team will consist of managers from Bosch Rexroth and HydraForce. Frank Hess, who currently heads up Bosch Rexroth’s Compact Hydraulics Business Unit, will lead the newly shaped organization.

As integration process begins, HydraForce’s and Bosch Rexroth’s customers and suppliers will continue to be served by their trusted contacts in the respective sales and purchasing teams, and HydraForce will continue to operate under its own brand for the time being. The newly shaped Compact Hydraulics Business Unit will operate from its current headquarters locations in Lincolnshire (Illinois, USA) and Nonantola (Italy).
As HydraForce and Bosch Rexroth join forces, we will combine our customer focus, application expertise and entrepreneurial know-how to achieve sustained growth above market. Together, we will continue to provide excellent support and innovations for our customers, further develop our strong relationships with partners, and open great opportunities for our associates.
